The original depot for Stagecoach Lancaster was at Battery, Morecambe. The ex-Lancaster City Transport depot. This depot lacked the facilities required to properly maintain buses, such as pits and a washing area. The company then moved to its current location.

Stagecoach completed the acquisition of Preston Bus Limited (“Preston Bus”) for an undisclosed sum on Friday 23rd January 2009. The company now becomes part of the Stagecoach North West operations.

Preston Bus was formed as a company in 1986 to take over Preston Borough Council's Transport Department. The origins of the Company can be traced back to 1879 when horse trams were introduced by the Preston Tramway Company under the sanctions of Preston Corporation. In 1904 the arrangement changed when Preston Corporation introduced its own electric trams. In 1993, Preston Bus employees purchased the business from Preston Council. The company has been in operation for 105 years from 1904 to 2009.

Preston Bus, which has around 300 employees and a fleet of around 120 vehicles, operates out of a depot at Deepdale Road, Preston. It operates on 14 key routes in Preston and South Ribble and the annual turnover of the business is around £11 million.

These buses are to be launched in service on Friday 11th April 2008 by Geraldine Smith, Morecambe & Lunsdale Labour MP at Morecambe Bus Station.

There are also some photos included of the maintenance bays and the outside ramp.
