Stagecoach completed the acquisition of Preston Bus Limited (“Preston Bus”) for an undisclosed sum on Friday 23rd January 2009. The company now becomes part of the Stagecoach North West operations.

Preston Bus was formed as a company in 1986 to take over Preston Borough Council's Transport Department. The origins of the Company can be traced back to 1879 when horse trams were introduced by the Preston Tramway Company under the sanctions of Preston Corporation. In 1904 the arrangement changed when Preston Corporation introduced its own electric trams. In 1993, Preston Bus employees purchased the business from Preston Council. The company has been in operation for 105 years from 1904 to 2009.

Preston Bus, which has around 300 employees and a fleet of around 120 vehicles, operates out of a depot at Deepdale Road, Preston. It operates on 14 key routes in Preston and South Ribble and the annual turnover of the business is around £11 million.

A series of photos of Stagecoach Lancaster's 18363 (MX55 KPR) in a all-over advert for Morecambe Football Club. The advert on the bus was unvailed to the public on Saturday 19th September 2009 at the Christie Park Ground of Morecambe FC.

Eighteen months ago Aaron Matthews and Sam Hamblett came up with the idea of decking a locally-run Stagecoach bus in Morecambe colours and their efforts were rewarded on the same weekend when the bus was officially unveiled before the Shrimps' clash against Notts County.

Yhe main sponsors of the bus is Denise Oakes at Mains Business Lancaster. Other businesses who supported the pair include The Visitor, Jessop's Estate Agents, Ma Murphy's Irish Pub and Baytype.

The original depot for Stagecoach Lancaster was at Battery, Morecambe. The ex-Lancaster City Transport depot. This depot lacked the facilities required to properly maintain buses, such as pits and a washing area. The company then moved to its current location.

A series of photos of Stagecoach Cumbria's 20780 (K780 DAO) in a all-over advert for Ulverston and inparticular comedy duo Laurel & Hardy. The bus was launched at Oubas Hill in Ulverston on Thursday 4th September 2008 at 12.30pm outside the new premises of the Laurel and Hardy Museum, which recently relocated from Upper Brook Street.

On hand at the officially launch of the bus on to the streets of Cumbria was Stan and Ollie themselves (aka Gary Slade and Rob Graham) who performed close-up magic tricks and a fork bending illusion; Ulverston Mayor Councillor Jeanette Jenkinson, museum proprietor Marion Grave and Nancy Wardell, the last remaining cousin of Stan Laurel.

At the Morecambe Depot, Whitegate, White Lund Industrial Estate, Morecambe. Heritage buses were running to Lancaster Bus Station, Morecambe Football Club where a park & ride car park was and a service to Morecambe Bus/Rail Station. Activites on the day included having your name in lights, a Hazard Perception test in the training bus and also a ride through the bus wash. Plenty of trade stands and visiting bus ensure a excellent and successful day.

These two services meet here to form a through service between Lancaster and Fleetwood. The termination of both services is at Knott End Ferry Cafe by the River Wyre.

Route 'M11' serves Lancaster. This route is from London to Aberdeen. The return working being Aberdeen to London. Both buses call at the bus station at 14:15hrs and depart 14:20hrs.

The X4 and X5 serve the town. These operate hourly from Penrith to Workington via Cockermouth.
The service 79 is every 30minutes to Seatoller during the summer season.
Service 77/77A serves Buttermere. The service is every 2 hours.
Service 208 only operates at Weekends and goes to Patterdale. This service is known as the 'Ullswater Connexion'.
